When Bird Allergy Flies Your WayBird allergy is a normal reaction of your bodys immune system to the feather dander, or more popularly known as feather dust, and droppings or fecal matter coming out of birds.People who work closely with birds and those who take care of birds as pets are the most at risk to develop bird allergy. Farm workers, bird fanciers and zookeepers are the most common "bird allergy" patients in hospitals in the US alone. However, medical statistics reveal that globally, the ratio of people allergic to birds are far lower compared to those allergic to other animals like dogs and cats.Be also aware that bird allergy is an allergic reaction that indicates the immune systems efforts to defend you from what it senses or perceives as a health threat. Take note that complications to bird allergy kill, not the bird allergy itself.During the process of an on set of bird allergy, the feather dust becomes an allergen that is not wanted by the bodys system. When it manages to make a contact with your body, it will automatically trigger or cause the immune system to retaliate and produce antibodies or counter substances. Do Eat With Your Emotions?

Do Eat With Your Emotions?

Weight Loss HypnosisIs binging your number one problem? When you are alone and relaxed do you eat anything and everything. It doesn't matter what it is -- you feel have no self-control. It doesn't matter how I'm feeling because either way I always eat. Please help!First, realize you are very much in control. It sounds like you are using food to meet needs and handle feelings that you don't know how to deal with in a healthier manner.Yes, it feels "out of control" as "emotional eaters." It often feels like the jelly doughnuts sprout wings and cram themselves down your throat. Other times it feels like an alien presence has invaded the decision-making center of our brains, making us do stupid things against our will. We criticize ourselves for being so weak and powerless, when what we really want is to be thin and healthy.Let's get real. Fattening foods don't really fly. Eating requires a decision to eat. Eating requires a deliberate act. Therefore, it's impossible to be "out of control" of our eating.Yes and no.To understand this dilemma, understand that although eating does require a conscious decision to eat, it is influenced by both conscious and unconscious factors. We're not always aware of the feelings and issues that drive us to binge. We can be in such internal conflict that while our right hand is stuffing our face the left hand tries to stop it. We are bewildered with this vicious battle and end up feeling like a loser every time.To understand this we also have to recognize the emotional power of food. Food is unique. It gets right down into our belly where we have all those "gut-wrenching" feelings and soothes turmoil. For many, food is a primary emotional coping technique. It distracts. It calms. It's dependable. And it is almost always readily available. No wonder, then, that so many of us feel out of control in the face of stress. We don't know what else to do besides eat. When we spend all day meeting everyone else's needs, it's often the case that after the kids are no longer demanding our time and energy, we sit down and "give" to ourselves with food. It's crucial to avoid buying into the destructive and disempowering notion that we are "out of control" by recognizing that eating requires a choice. If we tune into the lurking feelings and issues that affect our judgment, then we can make a coping choice that might be more direct and ultimately, more satisfying than overeating.Only then can we truly be in control.Try an eating strategy called "empowered eating." By becoming an empowered eater you will be more aware of what you eat and why you eat it, which will help you develop more stable eating patterns. Get started with the following three steps.Step 1: Take responsibility for your eating. Be accountable. Specifically, find an eating plan that can fit into your lifestyle. You must recognize that no one can do this for you. You must take the lead.Step 2: Eat with a purpose. View all eating as goal-directed. An eating goal may be physical, like nourishing the body, or it may be emotional, like coping with psychological issues.Step 3:Be mindful of your eating behavior. Pay attention. Be fully aware of your feelings and the issues that are associated with your eating. Being an empowered eater doesn't mean you never again overeat because of emotional stress. It does mean, however, that when you do overeat, you understand why. And understanding the "why" behind your choices will make it easier for you to develop new, healthy habits.

Trouble Sleeping? Why Not Ask Your Grannies!

Trouble Sleeping? Why Not Ask Your Grannies!

Sleep is a basic necessity of life. It is as important to our health and well-being as air, food, and water. When we sleep well, we wake up feeling refreshed, alert, and ready to face daily challenges. When we don't, every part of our lives can suffer. Our jobs, relationships, productivity, health and safety. Those around us are also put at risk. Definitely, excessive loss of sleep or sleep disorders take a serious toll on one's productivity and quality of life.According to the 2002 National Sleep Foundation (NSF), a recent poll on sleeoing in America found that 74 percent of American adults are experiencing a sleeping problem a few nights a week or more; and that 39% get less than seven hours of sleep each weeknight. The statistics also show that more than one in three Americans or 37% of respondents are so sleepy during the day that it interferes with their daily activities. In the past century that was relatively less stressful compared with the average schedule of a worker, the number of hours of lost sleep grew steadily. Though our society has changed and evolved our lives into a more complex and rigorous task, our brains and bodies have not adjusted to those changes. Based on health and productivity statistics, sleep deprivation is affecting us all and we are paying the high price.Though a lot of us have suffered from sleep deprivation, as every sleep researcher knows, the surest way to hear complaints about sleep is to ask the elderly. More than half of men and women over the age of 65 years complain of at least one sleep problem. Many older people experience insomnia and other sleep difficulties on a regular basis. As we get older, our sleep patterns change. In general, older people sleep less and experience more fragmented sleep. They also spend less time in deep sleep and dream sleep than younger people. There are several factors that may contribute to these sleep disorders, namely:Poor Sleep HabitsMedical IllnessMedicationsDepression or Psychiatric DisordersSleep Disorders such as sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and periodic limb movement disorder Retirement and BoredomIrregular sleep-wake patterns can affect an individual's circadian rhythm and make it hard to maintain a regular sleep schedule. Other behavioral issues, such as consumption of alcohol before bedtime, increased wakeful time in bed, or daytime napping, can also affect a person's ability to sleep. Certain chronic medical conditions are common in older people. Some of these conditions, including heart failure, arthritis, heartburn, menopause and Alzheimer's disease, can affect sleep. These conditions can make it hard to fall sleep or may cause the person to awaken frequently. This will ultimately affect the duration and the quality of sleep of the elderly. Some medications may impair a person's ability to fall asleep or stay asleep and may even stimulate wakefulness at night. Old age is characterized by many life-events, both positive and negative. Life changes such as the death of a loved one, moving from a family home, or physical limitations due to illness can cause significant stress and sleep difficulties. Retirement often leads to a lot of downtime with less daytime activity and can lead to an irregular sleep-wake schedule and chronic sleep problems.Every person's sleep needs are different. If one is getting less sleep than when they were younger, but still feel rested and energetic during the day, it might just be that the person need less sleep. However, if a person noticed that lack of sleep is affecting his or her daytime activities, a visit to the doctor is essential. There are steps that can take to improve a person's sleep quality, whatever age we might be, but help is most especially needed among the elderly.

Janine was extremely glad.

Janine was extremely glad.

Janine was extremely glad. She had been flirting with Jacob the flower seller for weeks – her house was overflowing with bread – and finally, he had invited her to have dinner. She thought her friends’ would disagree with the idea – he was retired but at 27, she was bored with men of her own age and she enjoyed Jacobs’ tales on his life and his different believes on life. He had so much knowledge on life! When she talked to him, she felt supported. He wanted to know her deeply and they spent some time together every day over coffee while she took her rings. They chatted about his trips as a diplomat in Thailand and he told her about his spouse, who had died 3 years previously. She could see that he had loved her and that, strangely made her desire him more – that a man could be capable of so much love was a turn on! Young partners, gentlemen, men to mask their opinions and she never believed that they were honest with her. Jacob was different he was straight and he showed his beliefs and feelings. In fact he had told her that he couldn't realize why such a gorgeous and intelligent (and young) lady was involved with him. She acknowledge him quickly as she wished to share great moments with him and from that moment on a a special vibration had invaded their lives. The feast was excellent: loving and comforting. They ended the night sitting on a bench looking at the city and holding hands. Slowly they embraced each other until she could feel his warm body on hers. She felt passion and love and they kissed passionatelyas she kissed him more hotly and pushed into his body. Wow! She had never been kissed like this before, she felt frail and thrilled at the same time. Then Jacob held her hands and comforted her. He explained calmly that age wasn’t just about different lives and varied skills there were also physical differences and he was no longer able to give her what she needed to be sexually satisfied. He was so unhappy that she almost laughed.“Don’t you know generic Viagra or generic Cialis?” she askedsmiling warmly at him. He said “no”, looking surprisingly. She clarified that her aunt’s husband had experienced a similar fate when he had reached 65 and that previously they kissed each other all the time, embarrassing friends with their behaviour in public. Eager to get a solution, they had took generic cialis and recuperated their love life almost immediately. “It assist you to be passionate when you required to be,” she said shyly “I could get you some – I don’t want to allow a problem to be a barrier for our love!” he looked astonished – and she wasn’t certain if it was talk of generic cialisor love that had unnerved him. Thankfully he was the gentleman she thought he was and he swung her in the air, kissing her hands.“ Clever lady! Don’t waste our love!" They looked for a nice place and stopping several times for a kiss on the way. Young love? Old Love? There is always a way!

Solitaire Klondike: Learn How to Play

Since computers entered each and every household, classroom and office, solitaire became the most popular game. It is simple to learn, easy to play, and addictive because of its simplicity. But that was ages ago, and people have begun to grow tired of that same old game. As a result, they turned to new variations and Klondike is the most popular of them. Ironically, its not a new game. The term Klondike as a game surfaces somewhere in the latter part of the nineteen hundred, and historians suggest that it evolved from miners in the Alaskan and Californian mountains to pass the time. How Can You Play Klondike? This is not a difficult game to learn, but what's good is that though you will get the hang of it quickly, its difficult to beat in an addictive way. Its not frustrating, but fun and invigorating. One of the things you must learn is how to lay the cards out.1) Start by placing one card on the table in front of you. Place it facing up. 2) Place another six cards to its left, but keep these facing down.3) Place a card facing up to the card left of the first card you placed down.4) Add another card facing down to all the remaining cards a bit below them so as to form a column. Likewise, continue by placing one open card and then by adding a closed card to the rest. If you follow the instructions properly, you should have it so that last column will have seven cards. Check also that you have twenty-four cards in your hand because these are the cards you will play with. Now What? What you have to try and do is place all the cards on the four different aces. These will appear whenever they do, and you have to try and create the four suited sequence from the ace to the king. The moment you see and ace, place it on the side and start adding the next card. (eg: After an ace, place a two and then a three.) Note that each suit must be according to colour and type. By this I mean that the ace of diamond gets only diamonds, the ace of spades gets only spade cards and so on. Likewise, you can create card sequences down on the base cards as well by placing the card lower than it of the opposite colour. For instance, under a six of clubs, you can place either a five of diamonds or a five of hearts, but the five of clubs or the five of spades is out of the question.Opening the Cards Facing DownWhen you can use the cards facing up, then you can open the card that appears under it. And like in regular Solitaire, when you manage to open a base card and have only six or less bases, you can open a new base by placing a King there.Moving SequencesYou can also move card sequences from one base to another and this doesn't depend on the length of the sequence. All that matters is that the rules of sequence are kept. To use the cards in your hand, take the top three cards and turn them over. But remember that you can use only the top card. Only if and when you use that card, you can use the next one under it. Continue revealing batches of three. Once done, pick up all the cards and start again.

Discover The Hidden Facts About The Water You May Be Drinking

Copyright 2006 Frank ManganoWater is life. Without it, humans could not exist. We are made up mostly of water, as is the world around us. There is no one on the planet with any kind of knowledge of dieting, health and fitness that does not understand the need for a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day. However, there is much more you need to know about water so that it can really provide you with the health benefits you seek instead of causing more harm than good.Tap water is full of chemicals including chlorine and aluminum. These chemicals are not truly meant for human consumption but occur either naturally in water sources due to the composition of the surrounding soil, or are added by cities and town to remove harmful bacteria or unpleasant tastes. In order to drink pure water, you need to either filter it or buy pure spring water.Water filters are relatively inexpensive these days and easily attach to faucets so that with the flip of switch the drinking water is filtered and then flipping the switch back saves your filter when the water is used for washing hands or doing dishes. Filters need to be changed frequently for the best benefits.Bottled water should not be stored in the typical milk jug type container. These plastic containers made of PVC contain chemicals, which rub off into the drinking water and put toxins into your body as you drink the water. The more rigid plastic made of polyethylene or better yet, glass containers will not allow any chemicals to rub off into the drinking water. Stores will promote the PVC jugs as containing drinking water but you need to purchase only spring water and be selective about the container. Do not drink distilled water either, since the oxidation is potentially harmful along with the fact that it can contain improper pH balances and ionization.Buying or filtering your water will also allow you to remove harmful aluminum. The consumption of too much aluminum is linked to Alzheimers disease (AD). People with AD who have died were found to have high concentrations of aluminum in their brain tissue. How Much Water is Enough? The minimum is 8 glasses a day, but that is a guideline that is far too general. A better guide is to have 16 ounces for every 25 pounds you weigh. For example, a 125 pound person should have about 80 ounces, which is 10 8-ounce glasses each day, or 2 1/2 quarts. That means a 200-pound person should have an entire gallon of pure water each day. Those people engaged in strenuous exercise need even more. Dont worry; your body will soon adjust to proper hydration and you wont be running to the bathroom every hour after about the first 2 or 3 days! Most people like their water ice-cold, but it is believed that extremely cold water in these beneficial quantities can be harmful to the stomach lining. It is best to drink water at room temperature. If you buy spring water or purify your own tap water, it will remove all of the chemicals that make room-temperature water taste bad, and you will be able to enjoy pure tasting water even at the warmer temperatures. You can always add a squeeze of fresh lemon to add a little flavor without adding anything your body doesnt need. Just be sure to drink, drink, and drink some more.
